Watching how the New Testament writers handled the Old Testament brought me face to face with a profound truth, that Jesus does not so much conform to the Bible, but that even the Bible, Israel’s sacred text, bends the knee to Jesus, God’s grand surprise that doesn’t follow a script.
After 30 years of studying and teaching the Bible, I can say that this topic has changed me and my students more than any other, because it gives us a glimpse at a bigger God and a deeper faith.
Even the Bible, Israel's sacred text, bends the knee to Jesus, God's grand surprise that doesn't follow a script.
If you’ve ever wondered to yourself why the New Testament writers quote the Old Testament so often . . . and why they take it out of context, then let's get started.
You'll learn about...
“It’s hard for me to articulate how much what you write & say resonates with me. . . . I’ve been waiting since age 13 to hear this material!”
— Lisa, Billings, MT
“Cross a stand-up comic, a robust theological mind, a college professor, and a decent normal guy, and what do you get? Peter Enns."
— Brian McLaren
“Peter Enns has emerged as one of the stars of biblical interpretation for thinking Christians. With writing that is winsome, readable, and non-intimidating, he cuts a path between wooden literalism and faithless liberalism, giving us a way to read the Bible that is both faithful and intellectually credible.”
— Tony Jones
“. . . brings together the finest in current Biblical scholarship with clarity, grace and humor.”
— Robert, Victoria, Canada
“. . . unique blend of scholarly and pastoral gifts. His writing and teaching exhibit courage, humility, creativity, and faithfulness.”
