First love this podcast!
Got a question but wanted to give some context.
My wife and I are on a journey over that past few years and one of the crossroads we have come to is the modern system of church. We’ve both grown up in church, been to bible college, been missionaries, on church staff. The life and teaching of Jesus don’t seem to fit into “church”. So much of the early church system seems to be patterned after the Law not Jesus’ teachings.
We are asking the question of “why would be be a part of a system that where Jesus’ life and teaching are not the foundation?” Typically the foundation for church and church members is in the presupposition that’s the Bible is true and nothing in it can be wrong so there fore Jesus is who he said he is. That view comes with so much baggage.
Should one be a part of a church when there are major differences at points like the presuppositions around the Bible? How do you find a church? What is church? Is attending a local church something Jesus said or church leaders said?
