I’m troubled by 1 Cor. 5 and 6. 1 Cor. 5 seems to invite Christians to judge one another and kick out gays, idolators, covetors, con artists, and other sinners. And 2 Corinthians seems to condone letting the church (rather than the legal and court systems) handle con artists and other disputes. Did the Catholic church use 2 Corinthians to condone their reassigning pedophiles to new parishes and failing to report incidences to the authorities? Doesn’t 1 Cor. 5 contradict Jesus’ teachings and practices, particularly Matthew 7: 1-3? I searched Pantheon and YouTube. I’m sure you might have already answered these questions. If you have, let me know the link.
