Hi Pete. I’m an avid listener of your podcast and an armchair theologian (I guess). I’m reading through the Jewish Annotated New Testament and I have a theory that keeps inspiring me. I’d like to share it with you to see what you think. My theory is that, in order to preserve the Torah, the followers of Jesus hid it (the Torah) within the gospels of Jesus. That way when/if Jews were forbidden to worship and practice their studies of the Torah, they could practice Christianity and still be able to reference and practice reverence for the Torah albeit stealthily through the “new” sacraments of “the Way”.
Seems like this could line up historically, though I’m no expert on these things.
Thank you for putting your ideas and those of others out there. You and Jared are awesome and truly inspirational.
